PURPOSE:To form a picture excellent in the finesse and gradation, by settihg a density pattern of a dot matrix dividing each picture element in details according to the density of circumferential picture elements to each picture element. CONSTITUTION:A 4-bit signal of a digital picture signal representing the picture element matrix of an original picture is applied to three shift registers 21-23 sequentially, read out in parallel and applied to an operation processing circuit 24. The circuit 24 obtains a pattern of circumferential picture element density difference through the comparison of density between a noted picture element and the circumferential picture element and a signal corresponding to the pattern and the density of the noted picture element picked up from a shift register 22 is applied to a pattern generator 25 as an address signal. At the pattern generator 25, the dot matrix density pattern stored in advance with the address signal is picked up and outputted as a digital signal representing the dot matrix dividing each picture element minutely for the original picture. |
