<p>In a method for lubricating a continuously moving conveyor system for transporting packages from a 1st station to a 2nd station, where the packages are temporarily detained at the 1st station while the conveyor moves beneath them, the conveyor system is wetted with an aq. lubricant compsn. which (a) contains a monoalkyl phosphate (I) of formula R(OCH2CH2)nOPO(OH)2 (where n=0-3; R is a 14-18C linear satd. primary alkyl gp., a 16-20C linear partially unsatd. primary alkyl gp. or a mixt. of 12-20C linear primary alkyl gos., satd. or partially unsatd., with an av. chain length of 13-18C), (b) has a phosphate ester concn. of 1-3 mM, provided that the wt. of (I) exceeds the wt. of any dialkyl ohosphate, and (c) is partially neutralised with a base to a pH of 5.0-6.5. Also claimed is an aq. lubricant compsn. as defined above but also contg. a synergist. The method may be applied to bottling operations. /0</p> |
