<p>The feed is for dispensing individual articles from a random supply. It comprises a drum (8) containing the supply (or an endless belt) which is rotated (28,27,26,5) about a horizontal or slightly inclined (fixed) axis (3) and has circumferentially spaced cut-outs (16) in its wall (10), whose shape corresponds with that of the articles. A fixed wall (22) arranged around the drum wall containing the cut-outs has an opening extending circumferentially over part of that portion which allows individual articles to pass through. The drum may rotate around a fixed disc (15), adjacent to the cut-outs and provided with two radial ducts (19) with orifices placed so that one air jet holds back objects not entering the cut-outs and the other assists articles entering them to emerge.</p> |
