PURPOSE:To reduce fluid friction and increase the efficiency of a water wheel by a method wherein a lining member is adhered on the surface contacting with water in the flow path of the hydraulic machine and the surface roughness thereof is determined within a predetermined range. CONSTITUTION:The surfaces of the flow path, which are contacting with the flowing water, are the inside surfaces of a pressure iron pipe 10, an inlet valve 9, a scroll casing 8, a stay vane 7, a guide vane 6, and upper and lower covers 3, 4, the inside and outside surfaces of a runner 2 and the inside surface of a draft tube 11, while the whole of these flow paths are covered by the lining member. For the material of the lining member, carbon fiber reinforced epoxy resin or glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin is suitable. The surface roughness of these resins are within Ra<=25 (nu/Wi). Here, nu indicates the dynamic viscosity coefficient of water, Wi indicates the average speed of water in respective flow paths and Ra indicates the average roughness of the surface contacting with the water. |
