PURPOSE:To obtain the gear combined with merits of both gears made of metal and of synthetic resin by a structure wherein the gear is made of ceramic. CONSTITUTION:Because of its high abrasion resistance, the ceramic gear can keep its initial high accuracy over a long period of time. And yet, because of its thermal resistance, the ceramic gear can be used at the portion with high temperature and, in addition, because of its small thermal expansion coefficient, no change of accuracy occurs. The ceramic gear also has large corrosion resistance. Furthermore, because of its non-magnetic property, the ceramic gear is extremely useful as a rotational driving part concerning to magnetic memory, which is easily damaged by magnetism. In addition, the ceramic gear is non-toxic and no denaturation occurs even when the ceramic gear is subject to the sterilizing operation by means of boiling of antiseptic solution. |
