DEODORIZING METHOD BY ACTIVATED SLUDGE

PURPOSE:To prevent clogging by the sticking of the living things formed by the colonies of microbes and to reduce equipment cost by spraying an activated sludge slurry with choke-free nozzles into a scrupper contg. no packing material. CONSTITUTION:Malodorous air is introduced into a scrubber contg. no packing material from the lower part thereof and is brought into contact with the activated sludge slurry sprayed from many pieces of the nozzles in the scrubber. Rotary vanes 17, 18 are rotated by the turning of the slurry passing through the slant hole 16 of the thick-walled partition plate 13 in each nozzle 12 to prevent the sticking of the colonies of microbes on the top surface 21 and the bottom surface 19 of the partition plate, the inside wall 22 of the nozzle and the injection hole 23 thereof; therefore, the nozzle is kept free from clogging. Since no packing materials are provided in the scrubber, the apparatus is not closed by the colonies of microbes generated therein. The treated air is released through a mist separator from the upper part of the scrubber.
