PURPOSE:To reduce a cost remarkably, and to exert no influence on setting the conditions such as electrification erase, etc. for image formation to a photoreceptor, by using a light emitting segment having the same characteristic as a minute light emitting segment, as a side erase means, in a device for forming a picture by use of a fluorescent generating tube in which the minute light emitting segment is placed in one line. CONSTITUTION:Normal voltage is applied to a cathode filament in a fluorescent generating tube 1, and it is subsequently heated, and positive voltage is applied to the cathode filament in a grid 21. In this state, a picture signal is inputted through a cable 5 from a picture signal generating circuit of the outside, is controlled through a clock interface circuit 3 and is inputted to a driving IC2. The driving IC2 controls the picture signal by 1 line portion each, and applies positive voltage to the cathode filament in a light emitting segment of a prescribed position. A thermion generated by a cathode filament 20 is attracted by the grid 21 and is accelerated, collides with the light emitting segment 18 to which positive voltage is applied, fluorescent light is emitted from this light emitting segment 18, and also a current flows to the cathode filament 20. |
