PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of an electrostatic latent image, by setting a distance from a charge holding member of a cleaner brush in case of one exposure plural sheet copying within a specified range, and bringing the cleaner brush into contact with a friction charging member and an earth plate. CONSTITUTION:An arm 7 for holding a cleaner brush 5 so as to be turnable around a turning shaft 6 is attracted by a solenoid 8 against a spring 9 only at the time of cleaning, operates so as to bring the cleaner brush 5 into contact with a photosensitive drum 2, and a cleaning operation state is obtained. On the other hand, in case of a one exposure plural sheet copying mode, the solenoid 8 does not operate, therefore, the cleaner brush 5 is spaced by a distance (d) from the photosensitive drum 2, and an adhering toner is hit and removed by a flicker bar 10, and is collected by a filter 11 by a suction fan. Also, as for the cleaner brush 5, excessive electrification is prevented by an earth plate 12 being in a position where said brush always contacts with the plate. The distance (d) from a charge holding member of the cleaner brush 5 is set to >=about 2mm. and <=5mm., therefore, deterioration of the electrostatic latent image can be reduced by sufficiently approaching a dark attenuation curve, (c) and also no unnecessary vibration is generated. |
