PURPOSE:To apply an adhesive force that will not cause any practical problem to the inner surface of a faceplate and prevent any deterioration in the characteristics of a phosphor by making the faceplate composed of the two-layer films of water soluble and insoluble phosphors and setting the rate of water insoluble coating to 0.015-0.15mg per cm<2>. CONSTITUTION:In order to improve an adhesive force to the inner surface of a water soluble phosphor, a phosphor screen with the adhesion that will not cause any practical problem is obtained by first forming the exceedingly thin auxiliary film of a water insoluble phosphor and then the water soluble phosphor film thereon. In this case, if the rate of coating of the water insoluble phosphor is below 0.015mg per cm<2>, the adhesion is not improved and if it exceeds 0.15mg, the characteristics of the water soluble phosphor are damaged by the water insoluble phosphor. However, if the rate of coating ranges from 0.015-0.15mg, the adhesion can be improved without deteriorating the characteristics of the water soluble phosphor that is the main phosphor of the phosphor screen. |
