The skis (3) attached to the ski rack may be removed only when the side window pane is lowered or when the vehicle door is open. To this effect, the supports (1) are provided with bearings (12) in which a coupling shaft (13) is mounted. Each end of the coupling shaft (13) carries a cam (14) which cooperates with a lever (7) of which the beak (10), in the locking position of the ski rack, is engaged in a lock notch (11) carried by the closure stirr up (2) of the ski rack. A pivoting of more than 180` of the coupling shaft (13) removes the beak (10) of the lever (7) out of the lock notch (11), unlocks the closure stirrups (2) and releases the skis (3).
