Arrangement for separation of oil and water

An arrangement for separation of oil and water comprises a container 1 with an oil accumulator arranged in its upper part. The container 1 is divided into communicating inlet chambers a and outlet chambers b, wherein the inlet chambers a taper upwards to reach the flow area of the oil accumulator while the outlet chambers b taper downwards from the flow area of the oil accumulator. The inlet chambers a contain a coalescing filter 11 arranged across the path of the oil and water emulsion from the inlet 13 to the oil accumulator. The oil accumulator is designed as a channel 9 with a regular zigzag shape in a vertical plane, while the inner crests c of the zigzag turns lie in the same horizontal plane. The channel 9 of the oil accumulator communicates with the inlet chamber a through its inlet side 15 and the outlet side 16 borders on the outlet 12 for separated oil, and has an end surface 17 which is turned downward in such a way that it lies in the horizontal plane passing through the inner crests c of the channel 9. The end surface 17 is provided with a water baffle 18, which deflects the flow of water into a downward direction, while the oil flows around the end surface 17 in an upward direction and to the outlet 12.
