A roof element intended as a base for roof tiles or other roof finishes has a water-conveying underlayer consisting of reinforced plastic sheeting 4. The plastic sheeting 4 is secured, without underlying wood panelling, plywood panels, wood fibre material or the like, between at least two parallel pairs of nail laths 7 in the area of the two edges of the roof element which are to be joined to the roof trusses 11. Each pair of nail laths 7 includes an upper 5 and a lower 6 nail lath between which the plastic sheeting is secured. The plastic sheeting is held taut, i.e. with minimum sag, by a plurality of tranverse support beams 8 which are laid across and joined to the two nail laths. <IMAGE> |
