PURPOSE:To form an electrophotographic copying machine provided with an editing function, having a blank exposure light source device for trimming an unnecessary picture, by assigning an area to be trimmed on an original to each control means as to its upper limit and lower limit, and controlling the copying range. CONSTITUTION:A small light source equivalent to a trimming range corresponding to a picture (c) of an original in the figure is lighted, and a fixed optical system is scanned, by which the picture (c) of the original is copied. Subsequently, a full face blank exposure light source 55 is turned off, a blank exposure light source is lighted through openings 53, 54 adjusted in advance so as to have a trimming range corresponding to a picture (d) of the original, and a photosensitive drum is blank-exposed. A moving optical system is scanned by keeping pace with it, the picture (d) of the picture is scanned, and immediately thereafter, the blank exposure light source is turned off, all the small light sources 56 of the full face blank exposure light source 55 are lighted, the full face blank exposure is excuted, and also the scanning is executed by the moving optical system. In this way, copying is executed in the shape in which an unnecessary picture except the picture (c) and (d) of the original is eliminated. |
