PURPOSE:To obtain a molding which is stable in pitch and position with high accuracy by constituting a positioning member which has grooves for positioning an optical fiber and a guide pin by using a substrate and a top plate made of hard brittle materials and placing it in a plastic molding. CONSTITUTION:The positioning member A consists of the substrate 1 and top plate 2 formed of hard brittle materials such as silicon, the substrate 1 has an optical fiber groove 3 and a guide pin groove 4 formed by high-accuracy grinding, and the top plate 2 is a plane plate. The top plate 2 is shorter than the substrate 1 and when both are combined together, the positioning grooves 3 and 4 are exposed 5 partially. The exposed part 5 is formed when both are combined, so the insertion of an optical fiber becomes extremely easy and even when a plastic housing 6 is combined with, such a troublesome process that an optical fiber hole is formed specially is not necessary. The positioning member A is stored in the plastic housing 6 by molding to constitute a multicore optical connector ferrule on the whole. |
