PURPOSE:To enable a desired power to be ensured in a device in which intake- air is heated through heat-exchange with engine cooling water, by decreasing or stopping the flow of cooling water for heating intake-air in a high load operating range so that the efficiency of air charging is prevented from decreasing. CONSTITUTION:In the partial load operating range of an engine, a pin 15 on a rod 14, which slides in a slit 17, does not rotate a bellcrank 16 even if a throttle lever 13 is rotated counter-clockwise from a position indicated by the solid line, by the valve opening operation of a throttle valve 11, and therefore, a valve 10 disposed in an intake-air passage 7 is held in its full open position. Accordingly, intake-air in the intake-air passage 7 is heated by cooling water through the wall 7A of the intake-air passage 7, and therefore, the evaporation of fuel is promoted. Then, when the high load operating range at which the throttle valve 11 is nearly fully opened, is established, the open degree of the valve 10 is decreased by means of a pin 18 and a slit lever 19 since the rod 14 and the pin 15 are abutted against the right end of the slit 17 so that the bellcrank 16 is rotated, thereby the heating of intake-air is decreased or stopped. |
