PURPOSE:To compact a device and to operate a large number of furnaces by one device, by separating a pressurizing means from a reaction force receiver part, moving the pressurizing means by a truck. CONSTITUTION:The reaction force receiver walls 9 are set at the side of the mobile terminal electrodes 2 of the furnaces 1 for processing a molded carbonaceous material into graphite in such a way that a truck running on the rails 11 is sandwiched by the terminals and the walls, and they face each other. The truck 10 having pressure heads in a withdrawn state is transferred to the furnaces 1, electricity is applied to the interior of the furnaces, the hydraulic unit 7 on the truck 10 is operated, the pressure heads 5 are advanced, and the terminal electrodes 2 are pressurized. In the operation, the reaction force applied to the cylinder 6 is received through the receiver bases 8 by the reaction force receiver walls 9. The molded carbonaceous material in the furnaces 1 inflate and shrink during the process for making graphite, the pressure heads 5 are advanced and backed following the changes, so that the pressure applied to the molded carbonaceous material in the furnaces 1 is kept approximately constant. |
