PURPOSE:To surely form a Zn layer contg. a prescribed amount of Al on the surface of a steel material by galvanizing, by coating the surface with a flux consisting of prescribed precentages of ZnCl2 and NaF and/of KF before carrying out the galvanizing. CONSTITUTION:A flux bath of a molten salt mixture consisting of 90-97wt% ZnCl2 and 3-10wt% NaF and/or KF is prepared. The surface of a steel material is cleaned and coated with the flux by dipping in the flux bath. The coated material is galvanized in a molten Zn bath contg. >=0.1% Al. By this method the surface of the steel material is surely galvanized, and the resulting Zn layer has superior corrosion resistance and workability. |
