<p>A powder for thermal spraying and a thermal spray coating formed by using the powder for thermal spraying are provided, wherein the powder for thermal spraying is suitable for forming a WC-based cermet thermal spray coating for rolls. A powder for thermal spraying is a powder for thermal spraying containing cermet particles, wherein the cermet particles contain tungsten carbide and metal comprising at least one of cobalt, chromium, and nickel, and a ratio of the added weight of the total cermet particles in the powder for thermal spraying to the added weight of cermet particles having a particle diameter of at least 25 mum is ranged from 0.5 to 15%. The powder for thermal spraying has 0.5 to 15% of a ratio of the added volume of the total cermet particles in the powder for thermal spraying to the added volume of cermet particles having a particle diameter of not more than 10 mum. The powder for thermal spraying has a bulk density of at least 3.6. The powder for thermal spraying contains cermet particles each of which has a crushing strength of 150 to 800 MPa.</p> |
