PURPOSE:To form an ink film of uniform thickness on a transfer roll at all times by such an arrangement wherein the ink transfer roll is provided between an ink mixing roll and an ink application roll so that it is alternately brought to contact with both rolls, while being oscillated between them, and an ink distribution roll which is intermittently brought to contact with the ink transfer roll is also provided. CONSTITUTION:At first, an ink transfer roll 27 is brought to contact with the circumferential surface of an ink mixing roll 23 and it picks up ink on the mixing roll 23. After that, when the transfer roll 27 moves away from the mixing roll 23, a distribution roll 28 makes distribution of transferred ink as it slides on the circumferential surface of the transfer roll 27 and forms an ink film of uniform thickness on the roll. Next, the transfer roll 27 is brought to contact with the circumferential surface of an application roll 25 by the oscillation of an oscillating shaft 26, and the ink from on the roll is transferred to the circumferential surface of the application roll 25. A pattern is printed on a workpiece to be marked 31 by a plate 30 mounted on an impression roll 29 through a transfer printing roll 32, and when the thickness of ink film on the transfer roll 27 becomes thin after several impressions are made, the transfer roll 27 is brought to contact with the mixing roll 23 again. |
