Circuit arrangement for video recorders having rotating heads and a device for switching the heads on and off and a device for search run in both directions with increased tape speed. The device for switching the video heads on and off generates a switching signal which has a duty ratio of 0.5 independently of speed and direction of the magnetic tape.
