PURPOSE:To obtain a heat transfer printer capable of giving print free of density irregularity without the need to raise the temperature of a thermal head to too high ones by using a system in which the printing position of a printing paper is properly heated prior to printing according to the ambient temperature of a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 4 operating in an interlocking manner with a thermal head is provided near the thermal head, and a heater 7 operating in an interlocking manner with the thermal head is provided in such a way that a paper 2 is preheated at positions preceding the thermal head in the printing direction of the thermal head. The portions to be printed of the printing paper are only preheated according to temperatures detected by the temperature sensor. |
