COLOR FLAT FLUORESCENT LAMP AND LCD USING THE SAME

A color surface fluorescent lamp and an LCD using the same are provided to emit RGB colors by color fluorescent layers formed in an electric discharge space and remove a color filter formed in the LCD panel portion of an LCD and various optical sheets by using the color surface fluorescent lamp, thereby simplifying the structure and displaying full RGB colors of high-luminance. RGB(Red, Green, Blue) fluorescent layers are respectively formed the upper surface of the electric discharge space of a surface fluorescent lamp. The RGB fluorescent layers are repeatedly formed in a matrix form in correspondence to each pixel of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel and are respectively emitted in RGB colors by a backlight driving unit.
