PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp video image even from a thin colored video image, by providing an FM luminance signal bias level variable circuit changing the bias level due to the FM luminance signal in response to the level fluctuation of a low frequency conversion chrominance signal. CONSTITUTION:A peak level detector 12 detects the peak of a low frequency conversion chrominance signal C' separated from a video signal S1 inputted from a terminal 1 and low-frequency-converted at a color signal processing circuit 14 and outputs a detected output Vd to a control terminal 13a of a voltage controlled amplifier 13. This amplifier 13 outputs an FM luminance signal YF produced at a luminance signal processing circuit 15 to a mixer 6 and mixed with a signal amplifying the signal C' and recorded 7 magnetically. Thus, in response to the level fluctuation of the low frequency conversion chrominance signal, the bias level is made variable at the circuit 15, allowing to increase the amplitude of the FM luminance signal without distorting the low frequency conversion chroma signal. |
