PURPOSE:To obtain a self-diagnosing device of a copying machine capable of limiting only a time for diagnosing a specified position, by discriminating whether limit time is necessary for a designated diagnosis position or not, when necessary, finishing the diagnostic action after the lapse of a prescribed time from the start of the diagnosis. CONSTITUTION:The operation panel 1 of a copying machine is used both for ordinary copying operation and for self-diagnosing operation. The copying machine is set to a self-diagnosing mode by operating a mode changeover switch. In the self-diagnosing mode, a diagnosis position is set by operation of ten keys 11 in the panel 1. The diagnosis position is designated with a number of 2 figures, and its contents are displayed on a numerical display 12. A start key 13 for instructing start of copying operation instructs start of diagnostic action in this mode. A stop key 14 for instructing end of copying operation instructs end of diagnostic action. When the diagnosis position is set and the start key 13 is pushed, a controller 2 starts the diagnostic action of the diagnosis position 3. |
