PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density, heat-transfer type printer capable of finely dividing a printing density into the limit of visibility with naked eye and also of printing in natural image as well as exactly holding the sections, lapping, and arranging of colors by using a system in which the detection and positioning of the colors of a multi-color solid ink are made by a specific method and means. CONSTITUTION:A Magenta portion 7, a yellow portion 8, and a cyanine portion 9 are provided in straight line exactly in the longitudinal direction of a heat transfer paper 5, and detection holes 6 and 6' for positioning are arranged in a regular row form at a given interval. By this, the color portions 7, 8, and 9 can be relatively faced to the heating elements 10, 11, and 12 of a thermal head 3 exactly. During the period when the thermal head 3 reciprocally moves between the position X and the position Y, electric current is selectively supplied properly to the heating element 10 for Magenta portion 7, the heating element 11 for the yellow portion 8, and the heating element 12 for cyanine portion 9 in such a way as to cause pictures corresponding to each color tone to emerge. |
