Starting from the fluidised-bed furnace (2) is a gas flue (4) which is delimited by cooled walls and the flow cross-section of which is drawn in to 30 to 60% of the base area of the fluidised-bed furnace (2). To ignite uncombusted fuel particles originating from the fluidised-bed furnace, at least one post-burner (50) for liquid and/or gaseous fuel (ignition fuel) is provided in the gas flue (4). By means of the post-burner, the fuel particles carried along from the fluidised-bed furnace are combusted and their heat is utilised so that only ash particles are produced at the gas outlet of the steam generator. <IMAGE>
