PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer film capable of well presenting half tone and suitable for heat-sensitive printer by providing plural ink layers of different melting points on the surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:When supplying an electric current to the resistor 22 of a thermal head through a conductor 23, for example, a heat corresponding to supplied electric current is generated, and a temperature distribution, as shown by dotted lines I (300 deg.C), II (330 deg.C), and III (360 deg.C), for example, is occurred in a transfer film. In this case, if the melting points of the ink layers A, B, and C are 460 deg.C, 380 deg.C, and 300 deg.C, respectively, the ink layers A and B are not melted, the inside portion of the dotted line I in the ink layer C is only melted, and only the light- color ink layer C is transferred to the paper 3 in contact with the melted ink layer. When supplied power is further raised, the ink layers B and C are melted and transferred, and when the temperature in the inside of the dotted line III is raised to 460 deg.C or more, all of the ink layers A-C is transferred to the surface of the paper 3. In this way, a wide range of representation from the light-color layer C to thick-color layer A can be obtained by transfer. |
