The device has heating unit (14) for thermal expansion of a shrinking chuck (12), where a cooling unit (16) is partially integrated in the heating unit for cooling of the chuck. The heating unit has cooling channels (18) of the cooling unit for a cooling medium (20). The cooling unit is provided with a gaseous cooling medium for cooling of the chuck. The cooling unit has a suction unit (22) for suction of ambient air, and a gas expansion unit (24) for lowering the temperature of the cooling medium. The cooling unit has an adjusting unit (26) to adjust the cooling process.
