PURPOSE:To enable the transmission of a signal at a high S/N ratio with a simple constitution, by providing a required number of very small lateral windows in the positions corresponding to prescribed intervals to an optical fiber provided on a rotating body. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 is installed to a rotating body 12, and the body 12 rotates in the direction of the arrow. A photodetector 10 placed on a static side 12' in accordance with the very small lateral window 7 of the fiber 1 is disposed in proximity to the window 7 so as to detect approximately the entire quantity of the scattered light from said window. The signal of an electric signal source 13 which drives light emitting elements 3, 4 commonly according to the physical quantity to be measured is modulated with pulse codes. The fiber 1 is disposed by connecting both ends thereof at one point in the ring shape, and the end parts are led out in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the paper, and are coupled to the elements 3, 4. Then, light is coupled in position continuously and the signal is transmitted at a high S/N ratio with the simple constitution. |
