This clamping ring is used for coupling two flanges of a pipe connection, especially of a small-flange vacuum pipe connection, clamping pieces being provided which engage over the flanges. For a coupling closure, a screwed bolt is supported on one end part and a disc and rotatable screw head are provided which screw head can be pivoted behind an end piece and engage behind it. The closure of the clamping ring is designed such that the disc forcibly engages over the end piece when the screwed bolt is pivoted into the closure position and is held such that it can rotate freely radially for matching between a compression surface of the end piece and a pressure surface on the screw-head side which is directly adjacent to said compression surface.
