PURPOSE:Improved gum arabic capable of providing an emulsified substance having improved antiseptic effect without causing anxious change such as formation of precipitate, separation phenomena, etc., by reducing ash and alkaline earth metals in gum arabic. CONSTITUTION:Gum arabic powder is added to cold water or warm water to give an aqueous solution, which is desalted until ash in the gum arabic becomes <=2wt%, preferably <=0.1wt% and alkaline earth metals become <=3.0g/kg, preferably <=1.0g/kg by ion exchange method, etc., to give the desired gum arabic. |
