There is a hip abduction device in which two edge beads (1) each extend over the length of the bandage and are fitted at the ends with buckles (12) and loops (13) and in which a spacer (8) is provided between the two edge beads, and the area between the two edge beads is provided with a perforation (14) for the purpose of aeration. It is desirable to achieve a great improvement in aeration by means of a considerably larger perforation while safeguarding sufficient stiffness of the edge beads and adequate spacing. This is achieved in that the perforation is designed as a large window (14) and the spacer is formed by struts (8). Maintenance of the spacing is ensured by the struts; the large window guarantees sufficient aeration in every case. <IMAGE>
