A mounting for dental casts has a holding plate preferably made of plastic and in the upper side of which a metal plate is inserted and centring profiles are located, a permanent magnet which can be releasably placed on the metal plate and is provided with an anchorage profile being allocated to the metal plate. The holding plate serves as the lower end of a gypsum space, so that when a cast is prepared the magnet is embedded in the cast and the cast is provided with complementary centring profiles.
