The invention relates to a device for closing a plastic-foil pouch or bag or a plastic-foil valve tube of a valve bag, having an anvil (11) and a welding head (10). The object on which the invention is based is to provide a constructively simple welding appliance easy to actuate and maintain and having a low power output for the continuous formation of a welding seam, in which a build-up of foil material in front of the respective welding point and the device part working there is largely avoided, and in which different thicknesses of the foil layers to be joined together or the triple layer of mutually overlapping foil-piece edges are taken into account. For this, according to the invention, the anvil (11) has narrow discs or rings (12) which are arranged parallel to and next to one another and are movable in a resiliently flexible manner and which, as a result of the transverse movement of an adjusting member (27) relative to the discs or rings, individually and successively press the pouch, bag or valve tube (7) counter to spring force against the welding head (10) individually in succession. <IMAGE> |
