PURPOSE:A wet friction material that is made by mixing silicon dioxide with a matrix consisting of a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and propylene, thus showing high abrasion resistance. CONSTITUTION:The objective wet friction material is prepared by mixing 5- 50pts.wt. of silicon dioxide with a matrix major component consisting of 5- 50pts.wt. of tetrafluoroethylene and/or tetrafluoroethylene-ethylene copolymer. Further, 20-100pts.wt. of a glass powder is admixed, and the mixture is subjected to second vulcanization so that its Shore hardness reaches 94-99 to give a heat and oil-resistant wet friction material with a friction coefficient stabilized. |
