PURPOSE:To increase the average heat conduction efficiency of condensation and to miniaturize the condenser by a method wherein a plurality of heat transfer pipes arranged in a condensation chamber into which steam is supplied are properly inclined. CONSTITUTION:The heat transfer pipes 8 of the condenser are inclined properly so as to improve the coefficient of heat transfer on the condensing side of the condenser. In operation, a liquid 9 condensed on the surfaces of the pipes 8 flows along the lower surfaces of the pipes, falls down along the inner wall of the condenser and support plates for the pipes and is discharged outside from an exhaust pipe 3 since the pipes 8 are inclined. As a consequence, the liquid does not form a thick film in the lower stage heat pipes to thereby prevent the lowering of the heat conduction efficiency of the lower stage heat pipes. |
