Highly water-soluble and alkali-resistant compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which R denotes hydrogen or C1-2-alkyl, R1 denotes C1-2-alkyl, C1-4-alkoxy or halogen, R2 denotes hydrogen or C1-2-alkyl, R3 denotes hydrogen or C1-2-alkyl and M denotes hydrogen or an equivalent of a cation and the ring A is optionally substituted by C1-4-alkyl, C1-4-alkoxy, halogen and/or (C1-3-alkyl)-carbonylamino, their preparation and their use, in particular as dyestuffs having affinity under neutral conditions, if appropriate together with dyes of other shades, and the preparations which contain the dyes of the formula (I).
