The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of products made of web-like material. Its set object is to increase productivity and to reduce the proportion of trimmings. The object is achieved in that two separate material webs lying one above the other are guided jointly through a pair of embossing rollers and are connected non-positively, the embossing reliefs on the pair of embossing rollers being offset in each case at 180 DEG next to one another as often as desired and being arranged in succession over the circumference of the rollers, and the shapes of the products joining together in the form of a polygon in a mosaic-like manner. The non-positively connected material webs are thereafter guided into a cutting station, the arrangement of the cutter tools on the cutting roller corresponding to the shape predetermined on the pair of embossing rollers. <IMAGE>
