The invention relates to a spinning process in which a slubbing of staple fibre is drafted with the aid of a drafting arrangement and then passed through a thread guide to a spindle and consists in supplying at least one further strand at the thread guide, so that the drafted slubbing and the at least one further strand are united in a combined spinning and twisting process. This has the decisive advantage that, even if the twist level of the drafted slubbing is low, the at least one further strand ensures a strength level which is sufficient for processing the ready-produced yarn. This yarn is suitable in particular for producing tufted material.
