A main container, for example a tray for eating purposes, and an additional container (42) are connected to one another detachably and/or movably, in particular pivotably. A snap-on joint (14) allows convenient handling for fitting together and separating the pair of containers and pivoting the additional container (42) between a position of rest and a position of use, which can be secured positively, but resiliently or detachably. In the position of rest, the additional container engages partially in a fastening recess (1b) of the main container, which reduces the overall height of the arrangement. Separating the main container from the additional container provides the possibility of storage with little space requirement.
