PURPOSE:To provide an electrode plate having high mechanical strength and no generation of dust by forming water soluble film on the surface of an electrode plate. CONSTITUTION:A grid is coated with a paste, then they are immersed in 1-7% sodium carboxymethylcellulose solution or sprayed with this solution, and dried. For example, 2.25l of dilute sulfuric acid was gradually added to 10kg of lead powder and they were kneaded to prepare a paste. Electrode plates obtained by filling this paste in grids were immersed in 0.5%, 1%, 3%, and 7% sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) solution respectively, and they were dried at 150 deg.C for 5min. 5 kinds of samples including no immersion sample were prepared. Active mass holding performance and dust generation amount by vibration test were measured. As shown in the figure, samples immersed in CMC solution are superior to no immersed sample. |
