PURPOSE:To make a titled material lightweight and high in adhesive strength, by forming a thin plated layer or a diffusion layer of noble metal between a core metal of Ti (alloy) and a coating layer Ni (alloy). CONSTITUTION:A core metal material made of Ti or Ti alloy is mechanically polished and washed. It is then subjected to electrolytic polishing using fluoride as a main component to remove oxide films, foreign matters, uneven conditions, etc. of the surface of the core metal material. Thereafter, it is thinly plated with a noble metal such as Rh, Pd, Pt, Au, Ag. Or the noble metal is diffused further by heat treatment. The core metal material is then pressed into a pipe of Ni or Ni alloy to coat the pipe. |
