In an information transmission device with an interrogation device (AB) and a response device (A) which frequency-selectively reflects an interrogation signal of the interrogation device (AB) in accordance with a selectable information item, resonators (R1 to R4) of the response device (A) are set to frequencies selected in accordance with the information item to be transmitted. For this purpose, a nominal response signal allocated to the information item is compared with a response signal read by the interrogation device (AB) and the resonators (R1 to R4) are set in accordance with the comparison. For this purpose, however, the nominal response signal and the response signal read are first synchronised to one another in accordance with a component of the reflected interrogation signal conditional upon an additional resonator (ZR) of the response device (A) tuned to a predetermined frequency of the interrogation signal. <IMAGE>
