Weather-resistant rubber-band fastening for fruit trees, ornamental trees, trees which are used to provide commercial timber, and vines

When fastening fruit trees, vines and ornamental trees on the stake or wire frame, use is most often made of fastenings which quickly become embedded as the plant grows or do not have a long service life. The weather-resistant rubber-band fastening (preferably rubber flat-roofing offcuts) are distinguished by the following: very high flexibility (high tearing strength); the width of the band is 1.5-5 cm (wide bearing surface, does not become embedded as the plant grows); thickness of 0.75-2 mm (depending on the fastening requirements); length of the rubber band is approximately 25 cm (the rolled-up rubber band permits rapid attachment); attachment on the stake takes place by hand-operating staple guns with galvanised clamps (see drawing) or by tacking tongues and billet tongues; the rubber-band ends are tacked together therewith or fastened by galvanised billet wire. The possible application is intended for pillar systems, vines and all young trees which require a securing means. <IMAGE>
