Basic and/or cationic pyridone-containing dis- or polyazo compounds, their preparation and use

Novel dis- or polyazo compounds correspond to the formula I <IMAGE> in which A represents the radical of a tetra component which optionally contains a bridge member; Py denotes a pyridone radical of the formula (d) and R1b denotes a radical of the formula (a), (b) or (c), as are defined in Claim 1, x represents 0 or 1, R1a and R2 are as defined in Claim 1 and n denotes 0, 1 or 2, with the proviso that the total number of basic and/or cationic groups present in the molecule exceeds the total number of (n sulfo groups + number of possibly additionally present anionic groups) by at least 1; they can also exist as metal complexes. The compounds are prepared in a customary manner by diazotisation and coupling; they are used for the dyeing and printing of cellulose material such as cotton and also of paper or leather.
