PURPOSE:To avoid an error in a fuel injection timing which would otherwise occure as often experienced with a fuel injection quantity changing its positional accuracy as time passes, by arranging such that the position of a fuel injection quantity control member is detected and then shifted to a target position in the control device of fuel injection pump for a diesel engine. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 12 detects an engine r.p.m., while sensors 13 and 15 function to detect a cooling water temperature and an operating magnitude of an accelerator respectively. These positional data are utilized to obtain a target position of a rack. A sensor 14 is adapted to detect an actual position of the rack, and depending on its difference from the target position a correction of a signal controlling a fuel injection timing mechanism is carried out. In this manner, a fuel injection timing can be performed with a minimum of errors. |
