The aim is to create a process which employs essentially simpler means in order to prevent in a natural way the harmful effect of condensed water in the injection oil of rotary and screw compressors and which can remove this condensed water from the oil in a simple manner. In such a process, the two-component mixture of oil and water is separated by fractional distillation. For this purpose, the interior of the oil container (16) of the unit is connected to the atmosphere (12) upon transition from load operation to idling. After the pressure has dropped in the oil container (16) - as conditioned by this pressure - the interior of the container is connected to the compressor inlet, and the pressure side is connected to the atmosphere. In this way, the partial vacuum for evaporating the water can be produced by means of the compressor itself, since the mixture is placed under reduced pressure and the water is driven out by evaporation. |
