PURPOSE:Painless dental cement having nearly no pain when dental cement is used for bonding or packing in the oral cavity of a patient, obtained by adding a tannic acid derivative slightly soluble in water to cement powder. CONSTITUTION:Dental cement obtained by blending cement powder with preferably 0.005-5wt% one or more tannic acid derivative slightly soluble in water, such as a compound (e.g., albumin tannate, gelatin tannate, etc.) of tannic acid and protein, compound of tannic acid and formaldehyde, acetyltannic acid, and metal tannate (e.g., aluminum tannate, zinc tannate, calcium tannate, etc.). |
