PURPOSE:To speed up machine number setting operation, by allowing each terminal to set its machine number in a shift register only when the terminal is connected to a network, and operating a switch and sending the machine number to an annular transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A master MS sets a pattern for synchronization in the shift register and sends it to the transmission line CH. Respective terminals S1, S2,... after receiving the pattern sets their numbers in their shift registers SR2 only when the terminal is connected to the network and their switches SW are placed on sides 2 to send them to the CH. The MS receives the machine numbers transmitted one after another to confirm all terminals which join in the network. A terminal which has a request to transfer data sets its number in a shift register SR1 and sends it to the CH and then a switch SW2 is placed at a side 2 to send a data transmission request signal continuously. The MS once receiving the data transmission request signal from this terminal equipment allows the terminal to use the network. Consequently, the MS need not make an inquiry, terminal by terminal. |
