PURPOSE:To perform recording in plural colors on every scan, to shorten a recording time, and to obtain a high-precision color reproduced picture by arranging respective recording areas between plural read areas at specific intervals in a subscanning direction, and performing the recording in different colors. CONSTITUTION:A read sensor 6 consisting of numbers of read picture elements while mounted on a carriage 12 in the subscanning direction has areas b1, g1, and r1 where a signal is generated and areas n1 and n1' where a signal is cut so that they are demarcated into the same number of picture elements and the areas n1 and n1' are set to an integral multiple of one read picture element. Filters B, G, and R are held in one body right before the picture element array 6' of the sensor 6 fixedly to the sensor. Light passed through the filters R, G, and B incidents areas r1, g1, and b1. Therefore, the carriage 12 reciprocates by only one area to irradiate areas b1, g1, and r1 with light from ares b2, g2, and r2 of an original in blue, green, and red respectively. Thus, trichromatic picture reproduction is performed. |
